Gary S. Shaivitz, CFA, Senior Consultant
Gary Shaivitz is an accomplished senior banking executive and consultant with over 25 years experience in the financial services industry. His past employers include such large banks as Bank of America/NationsBank and Allfirst; mid-sized regional banks including Equitable Bank and Bank of Baltimore; and a community bank, HarVest Bank of Maryland. Gary also served as Senior Consultant for Furash & Company, a well-regarded Washington-based consulting firm specializing in financial services.
Gary’s primary areas of expertise include strategic planning, financial management and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, bank operations, commercial credit, and risk management/compliance. More specifically, his financial industry accomplishments include developing bank merger and acquisition strategies, analytical tools and programs; conducting numerous due diligence reviews; leading merger transition and related operations teams; directing managing regulatory compliance and risk management projects and functions; designing market and delivery planning frameworks and systems; and delivering on a variety of other high-impact strategic and operational initiatives.
For the firms mentioned above, Gary has served in a variety of bank leadership and operating roles including chief operating officer, compliance officer, director of strategic planning and analysis, director of finance and profitability analysis, senior vice president - market planning and strategy, information security officer, security officer and corporate banking officer and credit department manager.
Gary earned his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, graduated with a BBA from Emory University with highest honors and holds the chartered financial analyst designation.
