G. Lawrence Warren, Managing Director

Larry Warren has re-joined Danielson Associates to head the firm's risk management and performance enhancement practice, a role he filled for the firm with considerable success in the early 1990's. He brings over 40 years of experience in the banking industry and has held numerous senior-level positions including lender, CEO, and director. He has been an active participant in all stages of a bank's life cycle, large and small, including the starting and selling of a de novo bank and the successful turnaround of several deeply troubled banks.

Most recently, Larry was a primary founder of Potomac Bank of Virginia in Fairfax, Virginia. Larry was the bank's first and only president/CEO and served on its board as a director. Under his leadership, the bank enjoyed a ten-year track record of success, increasing assets to almost $275 million before successfully selling for more than 250% of book.

Prior to forming Potomac Bank of Virginia, Larry headed up his own bank consulting practice for six years and frequently worked with Danielson Associates. During this period, much of which was a troubled time for banks, his extensive credit experience was invaluable in helping banks survive a tough economy. In particular, he played the primary role in rescuing Ramapo Financial Corporation – a $500 million New Jersey bank with more than 20% of assets classified as not performing – out of its severe asset quality, regulatory and capital troubles.

Larry spent nearly a decade as senior vice president of the First National Bank of Chicago, managing their national and correspondent banking division. He also held positions at NCNB and two Virginia banks, First Virginia and First & Merchants National.

Larry graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Science degree in commerce and received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.
