Marc S. Winkler, Senior Consultant
Marc S. Winkler has over twenty years of C - level, executive management experience. He is a creative and strategic manager, with diverse experience in community commercial banking. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of an ethnic community bank in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he created and was President and CEO of a de novo bank in Pennsylvania as part of an expansion for Vista Bancorp, a New Jersey Bank Holding Company. This de novo bank in 8 years grew to be 30% of the total assets and profits of Vista. Included in his executive positions, he served as a Director of a Bank Holding Company and two community banks for over fifteen years.
Additional executive positions include Chief Financial Officer, Chief Retail Banking Officer and Chief Operations Officer. In these positions Mr. Winkler was responsible for and developed experience in strategic planning, financial management, asset liability management, branch and retail banking, operations and information technology.
In his positions he created, wrote and implemented various strategies that included both growing and downsizing organizations. At Vista he was part of the management team that effectively increased the size of the bank by 500% from $150 million to $750 million in assets. With this growth earnings of the institution grew by 750% from $1.3 million to $10 million. He has managed the retail branch network of fifteen offices with over $600 million in deposits. Mr. Winkler has been responsible for successfully bidding on and acquiring branch facilities with deposits. He has developed and implemented plans for reducing expenses resulting in 10% reductions in annual costs.
Mr. Winkler has written articles for the ABA banking journal on topics of marketing and operations. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association and on the Community Banking Council for the American Bankers Association.
He attended and completed Sheshunoff Associates three year program for Executive Management for Community Banks. Mr. Winkler has a M.B.A. Degree with from Rutgers University and B.A. Degree in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati.
