What is the Go Team?

The Go Team is a group of former Bank Executives that are seeking to assist banks in solving their issues on a short-term basis. Our team has top level executive experience with three former bank Presidents, two former CFOs and one former COO. All of our team members have worked at various times in their careers with new banks and in many cases, troubled institutions.

The Go Team can help in several ways:

  • Assist with due diligence
  • Provide short term management assistance
  • Assist in troubled bank turnarounds, loan workouts and regulatory issues
  • Go in on Day 1 to help manage a bank acquisition
  • Temporary executive assignments
  • Assistance with regulatory responses.

Former CEOs/Presidents

Robert P. Corcoran, Associate Director
Former President/CEO of SVB Bancorp (Somerset Valley Bank), Somerset, NJ. Bob led the bank from its inception in 1991 to its sale in 2005 for 302% of book and 26 times earnings. At the time of its sale SVB had 11 offices and assets of almost $500 million and retained earnings of $15.1 million. Its return on equity from 2003 through 2005 was in excess of 11%. [ Full Bio ]

Marc S. Winkler, Senior Consultant
Marc has over twenty years of C - level, executive management experience. He is a creative and strategic manager, with diverse experience in community commercial banking. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of an ethnic community bank in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he created and was President and CEO of a de novo bank in Pennsylvania as part of an expansion for Vista Bancorp, a New Jersey Bank Holding Company. This de novo bank in 8 years grew to be 30% of the total assets and profits of Vista.[ Full Bio ]

Experienced Directors and Interim Executive Officers

Donald B. Jennings, Consultant
Don has been a director of Leader Bank in Arlington, Massachusetts since its inception in 2002. Leader got off to a fast start, being profitable in its first year, and has remained one of the nation’s most successful new banks in terms of shareholder value created. At the end of 2009, Leader had assets of $312 million and retained earnings of $8.7 million. Earnings in 2009 topped $4 million.

Don resides in northern New Jersey and is seeking a board position or “interim” executive position with a New Jersey or Northeastern Pennsylvania community bank or thrift. [ Full Bio ]

Former Chief Financial Officer

Eric Van Orden, Senior Consultant
Eric has served as the interim CFO for small troubled community banks where he was instrumental in cleaning up the financials and solving regulatory issues. He can provide loan review assistance and with experience in construction and development is well-suited to help banks work through their asset quality issues. Gary S. Shaivitz,CFA, Senior Consultant
Former COO of a de novo bank from 2004 to 2007 with over twenty-five years of management and consulting experience in the financial services industry. Gary’s primary areas of expertise include bank operations, strategic planning, corporate finance and investments, mergers & acquisitions, market and branch network analysis, commercial credit, consumer loan portfolio analysis, risk management and compliance.
